Caring professionals here to support you every step
A San Diego native, Connor Nuttall has spent the past five years helping launch and build substance use treatment and recovery programs across the region. His work is grounded in lived experience: his own journey through addiction and recovery gives him a firsthand understanding of what clients are facing and an unwavering belief in the power of compassionate, effective care.
As Program Director, Connor keeps the entire program moving in the same direction — coordinating the treatment team around each client’s individual needs, leading clinical and support staff, and ensuring operations stay organized, compliant, and consistently client-focused. He partners closely with colleagues across every department to strengthen communication, accountability, and the outcomes that matter most to the people in the program’s care.
Connor holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from California State University, Chico. He pairs that operational and leadership foundation with a genuine passion for recovery and clinical care, helping each individual build the stable footing that lasting sobriety requires.
David Nuttall brings more than 20 years of finance experience across the healthcare and medical-device industries. He spent eight years with Philips Healthcare and, earlier, held a position with Tyco — roles through which he built deep expertise in financial management, strategic planning, budgeting, and the operational side of running an organization well.
More recently, David has partnered with local nonprofits, including Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside. That work sharpened something a corporate résumé alone can’t: a real appreciation for mission-driven organizations and the responsible stewardship they depend on to do their work.
As Director of Finance, David safeguards the organization’s financial stability, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability. His command of healthcare finance lets him balance disciplined financial practices with what matters most day to day — the needs of clients, staff, and the treatment program itself.
Above all, David is committed to meeting people where they are and to strengthening an organization that delivers compassionate, accessible, high-quality care to individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.
Daniel Sheriff brings four years of admissions experience with a San Diego–based recovery residence, where he has guided countless individuals and families through the uncertainty that so often surrounds those first steps toward treatment. He knows that the hardest part is frequently just reaching out — and he makes that moment easier.
As Admissions and Outreach Coordinator, Daniel is a knowledgeable and steady point of contact for prospective clients, families, referral partners, and community providers. He handles initial inquiries, treatment screening, placement coordination, and transitions into the appropriate level of care, ensuring no one falls through the cracks between that first phone call and the start of their program.
Because Daniel understands how overwhelming seeking help can feel, he is committed to keeping the admissions process clear, responsive, and genuinely supportive from the very first conversation. His outreach work centers on building trusted relationships with behavioral health professionals, hospitals, treatment providers, and community organizations throughout San Diego County — the kind of connections that help people find the right care at the right time.
Above all, Daniel is passionate about helping individuals overcome the barriers that stand between them and treatment, so they can take that important first step toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Daniel Logan found his calling in the recovery field through his own experience overcoming addiction. Having walked the path himself, he connects with clients in a way that can’t be taught — through authenticity, empathy, and genuine respect for where each person is in their journey.
As Client Care Coordinator, Daniel makes sure clients feel welcomed, supported, and understood from their very first day in treatment. He assists with orientation and daily needs, coordinates appointments and services, keeps communication flowing with the treatment team, and connects clients to the recovery resources that fit their situation. When the structure and expectations of residential treatment feel like a lot, he’s the person who helps clients find their footing.
Daniel is dedicated to meeting clients where they are while gently encouraging accountability, personal growth, and continued engagement in their recovery. His easy, approachable nature — paired with his lived experience — lets him build real rapport with people who may feel uncertain, discouraged, or entirely new to treatment.
More than anything, Daniel has made it his mission to help others discover that recovery is possible, and to ensure every client is treated with dignity, compassion, and the individual attention they deserve.
Dr. Asad Hussain is a psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with more than a decade of experience treating substance use and the mental health conditions that so often travel with it. As Medical Director, he leads the medical side of care at Double Peak Recovery — overseeing medically supervised detox, medication management, and the clinical decisions that keep clients safe through the hardest early days of recovery.
His training is deep and deliberately broad. Dr. Hussain earned his Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine and completed six years of postgraduate training, including a psychiatry residency at Delaware Psychiatric Center and Bergen Regional Medical Center with rotations in addiction, emergency, consult-liaison, and geriatric psychiatry. He went on to complete fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Addiction has been a focus of his work since residency, where his research on reducing cocaine cravings was named best paper of 2013 by the New Jersey Psychiatric Association. He has published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, and Psychiatric Annals, and has served as Medical Director for outpatient, partial hospitalization, and school-based behavioral health programs.
At Double Peak Recovery, Dr. Hussain directs withdrawal management protocols, individualized medication management, and medication-assisted treatment, alongside dual diagnosis care for clients managing depression, anxiety, and trauma. He speaks Spanish, Hindi, and Urdu in addition to English — so more families in our community can have these conversations in the language they think in.
He is licensed to practice medicine in California (License #A150887) and ten additional states.
